Day 114: We had a great night celebrating our LMHS Teacher of the Year, Ms. Rangel; our Rookie Teacher of the Year, Ms. Dube; and our School-Related Employee of the Year, Ms. Manecci! A special shout-out as well to our outgoing LCS Teacher of the Year, Ms. Bryant. We are so fortunate to have so many wonderful people working with our Hawks! 🦅

The Lake Minneola High School ASL Club took part in an exciting Literacy Week activity on January 29th with our friends at Grassy Lake Elementary School. Club students visited classrooms to read the book “Don ‘t Trust Cats.” They also showed the classes some new ASL signs, and gave away some goodies! The books were then donated to the GLES library for all to enjoy. Many thanks to the staff and teachers at Grassy Lake that made this possible!

Below are your reminders/updates for the week.
Cap and Gown: Please continue to order cap and gowns. Remember, cap and gown package INCLUDES the cap, gown, tassel, medallion, and LMHS stole. The website makes it a little misleading - you DO NOT have to purchase a separate tassel unless you want one. Please have your cap and gown ordered by March 20th. Orders will be shipped to the Jostens office, and then brought to LMHS and handed out in Mid-April

Graduation Tickets: As students and families begin planning for the graduation ceremony, we would like to share important information regarding graduation tickets. Each graduate will receive ten (10) complimentary tickets. A limited number of additional tickets will be available for purchase for $15 each through School Cash beginning March 17. In accordance with UCF policy, all guests over the age of two (2) must have a ticket to attend. Tickets will be distributed to students during the mandatory graduation rehearsal on Wednesday, March 13th.. Students who choose not to participate in the graduation ceremony will not receive their allotted tickets. Please note that the school is not responsible for, nor involved in, any ticket exchanges after distribution. Any arrangements made between families or students regarding tickets are handled solely between the involved parties.
Grad Bash: Seniors, you have just about a month left to purchase tickets for this one-of-a-kind event. Tickets can be purchased via SchoolCash (link below) or you can pay me in cash in room 1-290. Grad Bash will be on Saturday, April 18th. The price is $155, and Universal DOES NOT allow annual passes for this event. The last day to purchase is February 27th. Beginning March 2nd, students can pick up a permission form outside my door, or print a copy and return it. Permission forms will need to be signed and returned in order to attend.

Senior Shirts: Tomorrow, 1/31, is the last day to order your class of 26 shirts. This shirt will have the names of all of the graduates on the back. Shirts are on sale on SchoolCash until 1/31. After 1/31, I will place the order and then it will take about two weeks to get them. I will notify students when they arrive.

Senior Parent Meeting: There will be a senior parent meeting on Wednesday, March 4th at 6pm in the LMHS auditorium. More information will be shared as we get closer. Parents will be able to pay any outstanding dues or fines, and a representative from Jostens will also be on hand taking cap and gown orders.
