Day 53: 🏊‍♂️💚 Hawk Swimmers Make a Splash! 💚🏊‍♀️
The Lake Minneola High School swim team dominated the Mid Florida Conference meet in Ocala on Saturday, October 18th! Both the boys and girls teams took 1st place overall — with the boys scoring 560 points and the girls 456 points!

🔥 The Hawks also set 7 new school records and shattered 4 conference records — a true showcase of hard work, teamwork, and Hawk pride!

Did you know that the school bus is one of the safest vehicles on the road? Less than 1% of all traffic fatalities involve children on school transportation vehicles. However, children are more at risk when approaching or leaving a school bus. It’s important for all drivers, as well as parents and students, to understand school bus safety. That's the focus of National School Bus Safety Week, an active and evolving public education program urging parents, students, teachers, motorists, school bus operators, school administrators, and other interested parties to join forces and address the importance of school bus safety.

Happy Monday! We hope you had a great weekend. Below are your updates and reminders for the week

1). Grad Bash: While tickets are not yet on sale, the price this year will be $155. Grad Bash is an event where seniors from across the state spend the evening at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. It will take place on Saturday, April 18th. We will leave LMHS at 3:00 p.m., and you’ll enjoy the park from 4:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. More information will be available once tickets officially go on sale.

2). Senior Road Show: This Wednesday, October 22nd, is the 3rd Senior Road Show. You can book online using the link below. For any questions, please email Mrs. McMillan at mcmillank@lake.k12.fl.us.

3). Letters of Recommendation & Applications: Any senior requesting letters of recommendation, Common App completions, or scholarship paperwork must make these requests at least two weeks in advance. Speak directly with the teacher or counselor you’re asking, and provide a resume or brag sheet. We’re happy to help, but please remember these take time to write.

4). Cap and Gown Orders: Please make sure you’ve ordered your cap and gown. The “Cap and Gown Unit” package on the website below is all you need. It includes the cap, gown, tassel, medallion, and stole. We changed vendors this year, and the gown has been slightly redesigned, so every student must purchase a new one—you cannot reuse gowns from previous graduations.

5). Class Dues & Shirts: Class dues can still be paid, and we have about 200 shirts remaining. After you’ve paid your dues, stop by my room (1-290) to pick up your shirt.

6). Senior Year-at-a-Glance: All senior-related activities for the year can be found on the Senior Year-at-a-Glance document, which is updated as needed.
