Our DECA students had an incredible experience going behind the scenes with the NASCAR Marketing Team, where they got an exclusive look at upcoming ad campaigns and learned what it really takes to build a career in marketing — especially in the exciting world of sports marketing.
They also had the honor of meeting the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, hearing the inspiring stories of how they earned their wings (and the virtual experience was a huge hit, too!). ✈️🇺🇸
From exploring the Fan Zone, getting up close to real race cars, walking the track, and even signing it — this trip was the perfect mix of hands-on learning and unforgettable fun.
An action-packed day full of career insight, inspiration, and Hawk pride! 🦅💼

Dating violence is more common than you may think, especially among teens and young adults. In fact, 1 in 3 U.S. teens will experience physical, sexual, or emotional abuse from someone they’re in a relationship with before becoming adults, according to loveisrespect.org. Each February, young adults and their loved ones nationwide raise awareness about teen dating violence through Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM). This annual, month-long effort focuses on advocacy and education to stop dating abuse before it starts.

Grad Bash: Seniors, you have 18 days left to purchase tickets for this one-of-a-kind event. Tickets can be purchased via SchoolCash (link below) or you can pay me in cash in room 1-290. Grad Bash will be on Saturday, April 18th. The price is $155, and Universal DOES NOT allow annual passes for this event. The last day to purchase is February 27th. Beginning March 2nd, students can pick up a permission form outside my door, or print a copy and return it. Permission forms will need to be signed and returned in order to attend.

Orders will be shipped to the Jostens office, and then brought to LMHS and handed out in Mid-April

Graduation Tickets: As students and families begin planning for the graduation ceremony, we would like to share important information regarding graduation tickets. Each graduate will receive ten (10) complimentary tickets. A limited number of additional tickets will be available for purchase for $15 each through School Cash beginning March 17. In accordance with UCF policy, all guests over the age of two (2) must have a ticket to attend. Tickets will be distributed to students during the mandatory graduation rehearsal on Wednesday, March 13th. Students who choose not to participate in the graduation ceremony will not receive their allotted tickets. Please note that the school is not responsible for, nor involved in, any ticket exchanges after distribution. Any arrangements made between families or students regarding tickets are handled solely between the involved parties.
Senior Parent Meeting: There will be a senior parent meeting on Wednesday, March 4th at 6pm in the LMHS auditorium. More information will be shared as we get closer. Parents will be able to pay any outstanding dues or fines, and a representative from Jostens will also be on hand taking cap and gown orders.

Congratulations to all students who participated in the Daughters of the American Revolution's Scholarship Ceremony in Clermont on Friday, Feb. 6. All winners receive a certificate, pin or medal, and a cash scholarship. The Outstanding American History Student award went to Emily Aldridge-Legg of Lincoln Park Education Center, Anabel Marie Singh of East Ridge High School, Quinn Nicholson of South Lake High School, and Kaiden Rausch of Lake Virtual School. These students were selected by their school's Social Science Department for high achievement in American History. The Good Citizen Award went to Lukas William-Hill of South Lake High, Emily Due Edwards of Lake Minneola High, Caitlyn Diane Purdy of Lake Virtual, and Primrose Kiki-Charles of East Ridge High. This award celebrates young people who exhibit the qualities of good citizenship -- dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. They will go on to compete at the state and national level for additional honors and scholarships.
